As a kid I spent many of my Easter weekends at the ice rink playing in holiday hockey tournaments. Those were the good ol’ days. The ice rink close by was having an easter egg hunt today out in their field so I thought it would be fun to take Kaylee. A little part of me was hoping a hockey game would be going on but no such luck. I did get to spend some time in their very small hockey shop and I got an abstract shot of their sticks. I wish it would have turned out differently (I wish the blades were in the shot) but we had to be on our way to make it to the hunt. They also had a pink hockey helmet and pink figure skates that Kaylee wanted, that makes me one happy mama. 🙂

Shane Connelly is The Man

Its not everyday you hear an athlete make a promise to a kid, and then actually keep it. On the way into the locker room Shane Connelly did just that with this young man when he told him he would be back out to sign his helmet for him. Too cool.
